Tour #1 “Culinary Tour of Providence” Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm $54 per person
We begin our tour at the Culinary Archives & Museum at Johnson & Wales University. This one-of-a-kind museum has a fascinating collection which includes rare Presidential culinary autographs, culinary tools dating to the third millennium, B.C., original artwork, an exhibit on diners and hotel and restaurant silver. Then re-board the motorcoach and travel to Federal Hill, the Italian section of Providence. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch enjoy a narrated tour of Providence, RI with a ride of “the Hill” stop at Scialo’s Bakery for a light dessert. Started as a family business in 1916, the retail store has original art-deco features and the brick ovens dating to the 1920’s are still in use.
Rate based on 40 passengers $54.00 per person.
Rate includes round trip motorcoach, guide for three hours, admission into the Culinary Archives and Museum, lunch at a local restaurant and entry into Scialo’s Bakery.
